I spent last weekend in Paris (alas not on a romantic mini break) but to repor t on trade show Who’s Next on behalf of WWB on the hottest new brands and the best collections.
To give you a brief histor y Who’s Next recently acquired what was previously thought of as the main show, Prêt à Por ter, creating one key comprehensive fair in Paris for domestic and international buyers.
Ready-to-wear womenswear is at the cor e of the exhibition, with complementary sector s or ganised around this central theme, such as men’s fashion, shoes and jewellery divided across six areas.
Over the course of the two days I visited Hall 7 (Private) primarily for mainstream and international womenswear labels, Hall 4 (Fame) for up and coming or premium women’s labels and lastly Hall 3 (Mr Brown) for urban and denim menswear, womenswear, footwear and accessor ies.
Below are some of my highlights from the show:
I Love Leon Harper
Louche
Essential Antwerp
Derhy
Cecilia Prado
With all the hype surrounding the show and having had never been befor e I was expecting a lot from Who’s Next and I wasn’t left disappointed. From the moment of stepping onto the ‘disco’ travelator to Hall 7 to the individual feel over at Mr Brown I was left suitably impressed by both the new design and layout and the brand mix on offer.
I’m told to expect bigger and better things from the summer edition including an opening up the main outside area for mor e of a ‘party’ feel which has made me even mor e excited to (fingers crossed) return next season.
Let us know if you are planning to attend the show next time or indeed what your thoughts were on this edition by tweeting us on @wwbmagazine or joining in the conversation on our facebook page.
